With the resumption of the public celebration of Masses on Sundays in the Cathedral from the weekend of 13th/14th June – the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ – there will be many people wishing to return to celebrate with the fellow parishioners. Alas, the current iteration of the Public Health Order limits the number of attendees to a maximum of fifty (50) persons, which is significantly less than the number we usually have gathering to celebrate the ‘source and summit’ of the Christian life.
In an effort to ensure an equitable and fair opportunity for all who wish to do so, attendance at a Sunday Mass next weekend will require registration in advance and, if numbers demand it, a ‘lottery’ to determine who will be present next weekend. Regretfully, only those who have registered in advance and been advised that they can attend will be permitted to enter the Cathedral for each Mass. No last minute arrivals will be permitted under any circumstances.
Registrations are now open and will close promptly at midday on Friday 12th June. Notification will be sent to those who are able to attend that afternoon/evening.
