Good news for parishioners of Sacred Heart Cathedral and the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
Mass will be live streamed this Sunday at 9.30am from Sacred Heart Cathedral.
The emergence of the COVID-19 virus has led to a range of restrictions that many if not all of us have never encountered, including the closing all churches and restrictions on our ‘normal’ gatherings. In conjunction with the Diocese, the Cathedral has been working on ways to allow our parishioners, and parishioners from across the Diocese, to stay connected in a virtual way. Chief among these ways has been investigating the possibilities for live streaming Mass from the Cathedral.
The good news is that we are now able to offer the live streaming of the 9.30 am Sunday Mass from the Cathedral to parishioners far and wide. Bishop Bill will be celebrating Mass in Sacred Heart Cathedral this Sunday and this will continue while the COVID-19 restrictions remain in place. Bishop Bill invites you to join with him in prayer from home.
You will be able to watch by clicking on the link in the menu bar above (‘YouTube@Cathedral’) which will take you to the Cathedral’s YouTube channel. You can also view the live stream by going to the Diocesan website. You can watch in ‘real time’ or visit the links to watch at another time.
Share the link with family and friends, and let’s gather online to pray as a community in these strange times.
