It may be a Christmas unlike any we have experienced before (yes, I know that might be accurate or true) but it is still Christmas. It is still a time to celebrate the beginning of our salvation, the moment when God took on human flesh to save God's people.
Christmas is the reason that hope exists, the annual reminder that God is faithful to what God has promised. Even in the middle of a pandemic event, hope remains and we will be the better for embracing hope's presence.
May you have a happy, holy and safe Christmas, celebrating the coming of Emmanuel, God-with-us.
Come quickly, we pray, Lord Jesus,
and do not delay,
that those who trust in your compassion
may find solace and relief in your coming.
Who live and reign with God the Father
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever. Amen.
